This news was happen on Aug 8 last year
Both of the students from Republic Polytechnic were dead. Due to the Malayan Railway train was unable to stop in time. A coroner’s court recently found out that the pair were too drunk to get away from the path of the oncoming train. The train driver had just taken the train, and was moving at 70kmh, around a bend along the Bukit Timah bridge when his assistant spotted something on the truck about 30m ahead. They sounded the horn three or four times. It was only when the train was 10m away that they realised there were two people on the track facing each other. The driver applied the emergency brake, but it was too late as the train needed 50m to stop completely. Their friends said that there is no reason for them to commit suicide and neither were there any documents or messages to indicate they were troubled or wanted to kill themselves.
This article appears to me because I wondering is what train run over them?? Is MRT or others.
I would like to ask the writer that will there any action to be done example like they will not let people to easy accessible to the place and will put more warning signs?
If I am in-charge I will try to increase more barriers to the place.

In the first such case here, a dog breeder has been put behind bars for causing unnecessary pain and suffering to six dogs he owned. But it is understood that he is now serving a six-week jail sentence because he could not pay the fine.
There were two similar cases in 2006 and 2008 but the breeding were not taken to court and they were fined $1000 each for failing to provide reasonable care and supervision for their animals.
This article appears to me because I like dogs too. I don’t wish that any dogs are been abuse.

Marina Bay will be criss-crossed by a 16km network of the cycling paths by 2014, becoming the first area in the city with such facility. A $26million fund has been set aside for the construction works, which will begin this year. When it is complete, residents and office workers area will be able to cycle on bike-dedicated stretches linking the Marina Bay Financial District, Marina Bay Sands integrated resort, Maina Barrage and the future Gardens by the Bay.
The Transport Ministry said the area was chosen because it is not yet fully built-up, making it easier to install infrastructure and plan the pathways. As for places like orchard and shenton way are more difficult to retrofit with cycling paths because they already built-up.
This article appears to me because I also kind of like to cycle.
There is no writer point of view.
I would like to ask the writer. Then will they try to build it in other areas too?
If I am in-charged I would like to build it at more other places too…

More hearts to go around
MR CHUA Kok Hin, 66, works six days a week doing shifts as a cleaner at the airport, plays table tennis twice a week for two hours each time, and has won several competitions in the sport.
All this was made possible after he got a new heart 16 years ago.
'I feel good,' he said, 'Previously, I could not work. Now I'm happy to have a job. I'm satisfied.'
Mr Chua is one of 27 Singaporeans leading relatively normal lives after receiving heart transplants. The longest surviving patient here has lived for 19 years with his new heart.
In 1999, Mr Chua even represented Singapore in table tennis in the biennial World Transplant Games, a sports competition organised specially for organ and tissue receipients.
The affable man admitted that previously, he did not watch his health, slept at irregular hours and smoked heavily. All this, he reckoned, contributed to his heart problems...
This article appears to me because I thought it is something about charity.

I would like to ask the writer, how he can stay on when he had not charge his heart.

Thai drought may hit proce of rice
10June 2010
The world’s largest rice exporter, Thailand is facing major losses to its next crop of rice and a water crisis because of the worst drought in nearly two decades.
There is only a little impact on Singapore due o Singapore imports as much as 80 per cent of its rice from Thailand but importers here are not worried about supply shortages. Mr Andrew Tan, who is the association, says there are enough safeguards in place here to ensure sufficient supple of rice. Singapore also had other suppliers. Aside from Thailand, the rest of the rice in Singapore is imported from countries such as Vietnam, Myanmar and china. Last year, trade promotion body IE Singapore announced that it would enhance its rice supply monitoring system to counter the possibility of a price increase caused by shortfalls in imports from Thailand.
This article appears to me because we need to eat rice everyday so I wonder what happen to the rice. Is it will increase the selling price?
There is no writer point of view.
I would like to ask the writer so will Singapore continue to import Thailand rice?
If I would in charge I don’t think I can do anything.

Good news for civil servants. The government has decided to pay a mid-year Annual Variable Component (AVC) of 0.5 month plus S$300 in July 2010.

The mid-year payout announcement was applauded by civil servants.
The government will decide on the year-end AVC when Singapore’s economic performance in the second half of 2010 is clearer.

A senior Indonesian police investigator revealed yesterday that Singapore was a potential target for extremist groups in Indonesia and they had singled out the orchard MRT station. They planned to enter Singapore through Malaysia said the official who has been involved in several high-profile counter-terrorism raids in Indonesia.
It is not the first time that a Singapore MRT station has turned up in a terrorism investigation. A 2001 crackdown on Singapore-based members of the regional Jemaah Islamiah terror network revealed they had filmed and photographed the yishun MRT station and its surroundings.

9 dead in another china school attack
I found this newspaper article on 13 May 2010, the title is 9 dead in another china school attack. The killer was 48 years old Wu Huan Ming. He hacked seven children and two women to death at a kindergarten in north-west china yesterday. He returned home after the attack and committed suicide, the local officials said. The motive was not clear, although initial investigations showed that he had a property dispute with the kindergarten’s administrator, ms we Hongying.
Professor Yang Dongping, an expert on education at the Beijing Institute of Technology said that he personally feel that media reports about these attacks have helped to create a copycat effect. People who are mentally unstable or who nurse hatred towards society then feel that this is a way of exacting revenge, or of making their demands. And early report on yesterday’s attack were removed from Chinese website or moved from the home page to inside sections, an apparent attempt to play down the incident.
There is no writer point of view but there is a commentator said if security for the Beijing Olympics and shanghai expo can achieve a spotless record, why can’t school safety achieve a near spotless one? I was agreed with it. I personally felt that china schools are so unsafe because there is a lot of news about school being attack.
The articles appeal to me because of the title another china school attack.
I would like to ask the reporter what they will do to protect the school over there? And most of the case why do people attack the school?
If I was in-charge I will hire more security for every school. And everyone will only exit n enter the school by using one school gate. So if strangers come into the school the security will stop them.

Carried away by Circle Line
Ong Sor Fern recently took her first ride on the circle line. She and one of her friends had different enthusiasm as her. Her friend felt that there are too many shops that are so near to each other, example esplanade and promenade stops. As for her she felt that the closer the stations the better.
She had been looking forward to the opening of the circle line, especially because of the service has a stop at the singapore indoor stadium. She had a hard time to go home after a concert, she had more than once, walk home from the stadium simply because the buses were too packed and there were no taxis to be had after the crowds poured out of the indoor stadium. She felt that the most immediate improvement services is to shorten the waiting time and to provide service after midnight.
she have always thought that singapore being a much more compact cuty than these other larger conurbations, should be so much easier to navigate via train. but for the longest time, there are only been the skeletal tracks of two lines. The North-East nd circlr lines, as well as the upcoming downtown lines, are welcome addition.
The article attract me becuase i haven't take before the circle line yet.
I was agree to the writer point of view, it will be glad if they is more train close to each other.
If i was in-charge i will open afew more stations. And the opening hours is till midnight. Due to lost of teenagers will be at outside even it is midnight. And the worker still can go home by train after their midnight work.

And after telling the girl that he made the girl perform oral sex on him. When the father when to work the girl sent a text message to her mother to tell her everything. The next day the girl made a police report. The father was arrested that evening.
He was charged with rape. yesterday, justice woo bih li called him an incorrigible monster and sent him to jail for 36 years-one of the harshest sentences for sex offenders ever. He was also ordered to be caned 24 strokes it was the maximum allowed under the law. The girl has suffered long-term pshchological harm. She was now worries about being shunned by boys her age, live in fear that her past may come back to haunt her, and in cynical about father-daughter relationship.
